We just kept chatting and singing songs in Jere's kitchen..
with nat playing the guitar... from 10 plus till 3.23am! hahas..
I'll really miss all of the fun and laughter here after exchange man..
Anyway...since I'm still awake..
and not feeling sleepy at all....
I shall blog about edinburgh and brussels!!! =D
Edinburgh
It is a really nice and interest place to go! But it's really very cold during nov and december. (Almost as cold as Goteborg). We only reached the airport in the evening and the airport transfer was only 30 mins! Met up with Jere and Matt when we reached there and headed for this lovely dinner of salmon fish and haggis (scottish traditional dish)
Headed to the ghost tour after dinner and it was AWESOME!
The special thing about this ghost tour is that... they do not just jump out with horrifying make ups to scare you. Instead, they will tell you interesting and REAL ghost stories of Edinburgh to frighten you! We even went down to the Vault where it's believed to have ghosts inside.
We din managed to catch the free highland tour out of edinburgh cuz we were late on the second day..but we did many other things too!
This is bobby, the dog that guarded his owner's graveyard for 14 years if I haven remembered wrongly. (Similar to Hachiko's story)
We went to Roslyn Chapel too! The place where Da Vinci was filmed. But too bad..no cameras were allowed! So we could only took on the outside.
And of course, the castle was one of the main attractions in edinburgh! With lotsa interesting museums and interesting tour by the guide inside. A place that you SHOULD GO when you are there. And remember... set aside around 3 hours for it!
Headed to the Scotch Whisky Tour that they explained to us the manufacturing process of whisky and introduced to us the different types of whisky produced from different parts of Scotland! We get to sample one of the whisky too! =D
This is the card that shows the 4 different places where whisky is manufactured in scotland and we'll place our free cup on whichever colour we want to try! But, i still dont really like whisky. Hahas..prefer red wine!! =D
Edinburgh was really a fun place! It was a pity that we din not managed to catch the highland tour out. I heard it was really pretty! Hope that I'll have a chance to get there again...And I'll go for another ghost tour definitely! I love EDINBURGH
Brussels
We only stayed there for one full day and 2 nights! Our hotel was awesome! There's actually nothing much to do in brussels so one day was kind of fine i guess. It was rainy ALL THE WAY. And there was even flood after we left. (our awesome luck i guess) Hahas..
We went to the atomium, the place where you could see the big big structures of atoms. But i have no idea what was that for. Laughs
The congress column, which we found by accident.
Visited the comic strip museum where we couldnt stop taking photos inside! (Partly because most of the things were in french and we couldnt understand *sad* )
The St Michael Cathedrale, which looks pretty nice on the outside...
There's nice stained glass windows inside too! (I'm in love with beautiful stained glass windows)
And of course, we have to go to the grand place and the manneken pis
This is the "life-size" statue of the manneken pis. he seems really busy eating and peeing.
First up was the belgium chocolates!!!
And lovely waffles!!
And of course, the mussels served with fries and beer from Chez leon! Super yummy!!!
Kinda lazy to upload more photos here... Doubt you'll have the patience to read all too so I shall end here! Hahas..
This overall trip was a really enjoyable one yup! Although there were some hiccups here and there...we made it through! And enjoyed ourselves a lot! It would have been good if we have another day to stay in Edinburgh..and if Brussels havent rained too!
Oh ya! I haven mentioned sth!!!!
We wasnt able to get onto the shuttle bus from city to brussels airport on the last day as it was filled! The next bus would come pretty late so we could only share cab with some other China people. Luckily we shared and the taxi driver charged us ard 15 euro per person. The overall fair was freaking expensive!!! The meter jumped like every second i swear!
This was NOT the final price on the meter yet! It was around 172 EUROS!!!! Freaking expensive to take a cab in Europe. Well...a lesson learnt, go there earlier the next time!
